What do members receive?
Industry Representation
TWGA is a representative body for guides working in Tasmania.
We have been recognised as a key stakeholder by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and the Office of Coordinator-General when it comes to matters related to guiding and tourism developments in national parks.
We are a member of the TasTAFE Tasmanian Tour Guide Industry Reference Group, voicing the TWGA perspective on training for guides.
A Voice for Guides
First and foremost, TWGA is a voice for our members. We are committed to consulting with our members on all stances we take.
As a member of the TWGA, you have the right to request TWGA to act or take a stand on issues that involve guides in Tasmania.
·You also have the opportunity to vote on all actions put to our ordinary members regarding the TWGA’s direction.
·You can also get more directly involved in TWGA by becoming a member of the Management Committee or providing input in TWGA surveys, discussions, work groups and forums.
TWGA meets with tourism operators to discuss issues raised by members.
Cultivating and Celebrating Tasmania’s Unique Guiding Culture
Tasmania’s guiding culture is special and we want to help cultivate and celebrate it.

To celebrate our guiding culture we hold social events for members of the Association and industry.
